Keeping local information useful
Corrections Policy
Businesses close, event dates move and local rules change. This policy explains how Calpe Local handles mistakes and updates.

01
How to report a possible error
Email info@calpelocal.com with:
- the URL of the page;
- the statement or detail you believe is wrong;
- the correct information;
- the date the change took effect, where relevant; and
- a reliable source, document or contact that can help verify it.
02
Review process
Calpe Local will assess the report, check available evidence and, where appropriate, contact the relevant authority, organiser or business.
A request will not automatically result in a change simply because a person or business disagrees with an independent opinion. Factual claims and opinions are assessed differently.
03
Minor corrections
Spelling, grammar, formatting, broken links and other minor changes that do not alter the substance of an article may be corrected without a public note.
04
Material corrections
Where an error materially changes a reader’s understanding, decision or safety, Calpe Local may correct the text and add a note explaining what changed.
The updated date may also be changed when a meaningful review or correction has taken place.
05
Updates are not always corrections
An event date, price, timetable or business detail may have been correct when published and later changed. In that situation, the article may be updated without describing the original wording as an error.
06
Removal and unpublishing
Calpe Local does not normally remove accurate public-interest content simply because it is inconvenient or unflattering. Content may be removed where it is unlawful, materially unsafe, based on fundamentally unreliable information, no longer useful, or where removal is otherwise justified.
07
Business information
Businesses are encouraged to report changed opening hours, contact details, services or ownership. A business may provide evidence of a factual error, but cannot require a positive opinion or erase legitimate criticism by buying advertising.
08
Response times
Reports are reviewed as soon as reasonably possible. Urgent issues involving safety, illegality or a currently active event should be clearly identified in the email subject line.
