Website technologies
Cookie Policy
This policy explains how Calpe Local uses cookies and similar browser technologies, and how you can manage your choices.

01
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on a device when a website is visited. They can support essential functions such as security and login, remember preferences, measure use of a website or support advertising.
Similar technologies, including local storage, pixels and software-development tools, may perform related functions. References to cookies in this policy include comparable technologies where relevant.
02
Cookies used by the current WordPress setup
The current Calpe Local setup uses WordPress and DreamHost. The cookies that may be created by the core installation are primarily technical or administrative.
| Cookie or group | Purpose | Typical duration | Who receives it |
|---|---|---|---|
wordpress_test_cookie | Checks whether the browser accepts cookies on the WordPress login area. | Session | Calpe Local / WordPress |
wordpress_logged_in_* and wordpress_sec_* | Authenticate and protect logged-in administrators or authorised users. | Session or the selected login period | Calpe Local / WordPress |
wp-settings-* and wp-settings-time-* | Remember administrative display preferences for a logged-in WordPress user. | Up to one year | Calpe Local / WordPress |
| Consent-preference cookie, if a consent tool is enabled | Remembers whether optional cookie categories were accepted or rejected. | As stated by the consent tool | Calpe Local / consent provider |
Most WordPress authentication cookies apply only to administrators or other logged-in users and are not part of an ordinary public visit.
03
Strictly necessary and optional cookies
Strictly necessary cookies support a service expressly requested by the user or a technical function needed to transmit and secure the website. These may be used without optional-cookie consent, although Calpe Local still explains them for transparency.
Analytics, advertising, personalisation and most third-party tracking technologies are optional. If Calpe Local enables any of these, they will be described in this policy and will remain disabled until the required consent has been obtained.
04
Third-party content and future services
Embedded maps, videos, social-media content, analytics, advertising networks, affiliate tools and newsletter providers may set or access cookies. Calpe Local will review these services before activation and update the consent controls and cookie information where required.
Until an optional service is activated, its cookies should not be treated as part of the current cookie list.
05
Giving, refusing and withdrawing consent
Where optional cookies are used, the cookie banner or settings panel will allow you to accept, reject or choose categories. Rejecting optional cookies should not prevent access to the main editorial content.
You may withdraw or change consent at any time through the cookie-settings link made available on the website. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the preference was changed.
06
Browser controls
Most browsers allow you to view, block or delete cookies. Blocking all cookies may affect login, forms or other functions that depend on strictly necessary storage.
Browser settings do not always replace a website’s legal duty to obtain consent before using optional cookies.
07
Keeping the cookie list accurate
Cookie use can change when WordPress plugins, embedded content, analytics, advertising or other services are added. Calpe Local will review this policy and the website’s cookie scan when material changes are made.
Questions about cookies can be sent to info@calpelocal.com.
